A lease is a legal document which sets out the contractual arrangement between parties - the freeholder and the leaseholder. The lease can include things such as:
- service charge details to maintain the property
- whether permissions are needed from the freeholder for things like alterations, sub-letting or to have pets
- conditions around the of the property
- parking restrictions
- leaseholder responsibilities, such as what they must maintain directly
